I don’t care

I don’t care for the world

we fashioned; for the forms

of pretence lining our streets,

governments, banks, schools,

and other institutions. The funny

thing is – we know it – and all too

well. We intuit the lies of the vicious

cycles our systems perpetuate

behind the veil of progress. Oh,

how I don’t care for it! Now, you’ll

think of me as indifferent – the problem

itself when I say that. Yet, I don’t wish

to merely observe and judge, nor do I

wish for a flood like in the times of Noah.

I only wish for my little corner of the world

to be – be in tune and in love with the riches

of the stars revealing the changing seasons,

and the riches of the dignity-endowed

beings who carry the precious

mystery of the unknown.

That, I do care for.
