fox in the city.

i was on the phone in the city

waiting at the red light

when I saw a fox. and just

like that i felt out of place.

he should belong here, or

at least be welcomed. yet

all he gets are the bright and

impatiently fast vehicles shining

their headlights with an angry

warning — you’ll die if you don’t

submit to our rhythm.

dear fox, I die when I do.
