“Human strength can only lead to human satisfaction”

How fulfilled are the Napoleons of this world? How content are they who seek fame and riches then?

What strength should I rely on to be eternal? Perhaps the temporal can only be transcended through releasing control? I’m eternal when I function from within the eternal. Human interdependence is a step towards this reality. I am not self-sufficient.

The Christian myth speaks into this intuition. I am thankful for having grown up with this notion as a foundation. The bitterness I need to work through and the reality I want to remove myself from comes from other layers of this institutionalised worldview.

I let go of human strength. Knowing I will try to cling to it and won’t have a tangible, certain replacement. This tastes of faith.

Many religious people live in the illusion of having released control and jump back into it in the form of a system, rules and etc

Christianity has become a system of ‘human strengths’ — one that does not require faith and reliance on the unknown.

This is why I see a contrast between Jesus’ inclusivity and the exclusive institution of the church. Jesus invited everybody into the journey of seeking the eternal strength — where all are welcome to stumble, to wrestle, to seek.

To be eternal.
